Well i currently own an e39 m5 and a e34 525i, if I get into a position where I can afford another m5, that would be it, otherwise:

Alpina B10 V8
E38 740iL (possibly an Alpina B3S manual)
Nissan 200sz s12 or nissan xterra
I’ll probably end up with a real project car, I was thinking something like an AE86 to go alongside my FRS.

I come from Toyota family, pretty die hard about Subaru and drive/love a 2012 Mazda3. I’ve sworn by Japanese built, or American built and Japanese branded cars, but I think my next car will be a Focus ST.
While Ford isn’t the most reliable of names (Found on Road Dead), they’re going in the right direction, the direction enthusiasts wish all brands would go, and for that they’ve gained my support. While they requested federal loans, unlike GM and Fiat Chrysler, they didn’t need a bail out even once, let alone twice, in the last 10 years. Ford is using the manual transmission to promote sports driving and for economical driving (ST and 1.0L 3 cyl ecoboost models are exclusively MT only, yet with opposite ends of the spectrum in purpose). They’ve given us the hot hatch we wanted. They’ve gone where the Japanese brands have backed away from. And I can take pride in the fact that the Focus ST is built here in Detroit for the American market.
Every fiber in my body suggests I should stick with Toyota, Mazda or Subaru, they’re very well established names and brands with world leading standards for conistency in reliability. But this decade is to Ford what the 80’s and 90’s were to Honda, Subaru, Mazda and Toyota. And the only way to support Fords decision for taking this path is by buying one. I need to believe Ford will someday out do Toyota and VW (the top 2 in world sales) because GM won’t (seriously, the Chevette defined every GM ever, they could make a piss poor car and still sell millions and it seems GM wants to stick to that scheme, they didn’t go under for no reason) and Fiat Chrysler is just….I’d almost rather be seen in a Kia. Or a Geo.
Buy the Ford Focus ST people. Support the direction Ford has gone. It’ll pressure the rest of the market to step up their game too to catch up with Ford.
Hopefully an upgrade
I guest anything will be an upgrade from nothing :-)
Most likely a Scion FRS if I can make the money in time, otherwise probably a simple 4x4 diesel truck
