Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio Takes On The C63 S And M3 Once More
It's drag race time again for Alfa Romeo's super saloon, with the Italian taking on a Mercedes-AMG C63 and BMW M3 in this Top Gear video
Getting a slight sense of deja vu? That’s because it’s not the first time we’ve seen this trio of cars do battle in a straight line. Last time around it was a drag race from Car Wow featuring a Mercedes-AMG C63 S coupe, but on this occasion the coupe is swapped out for a saloon. Oh, and the BMW M3 Competition Pack happens to be exactly the same as the one used in the Car Wow race.
As a reminder, the Mercedes and the Alfa Romeo both make 503bhp, while the BMW trails the pair with ‘just’ 444bhp. The M3 is lighter though, so make no mistake - this is a well-matched trio of cars.

The gulia didn’t have a perfect start
None of them deliver on promise …
Basically no car ever will. The performance stats are set in situations that are hard to recreate, tyres warm, nothing in the cars (cameras etc), as little fuel as possible in the cars and the best surface possible. Plus the drivers don’t have the pressure of having to beat other cars in a drag race subsequently giving them too much throttle and losing traction or too little and bogging down. The official figures would also never be set on a first run
I agree, the m3/4 has the worst launch control system iv ever seen, theres always far too much wheel spin, bmw need to get a few pointers about rwd launching from mclaren
Y u no rs 5?
That moment when the only one with launch control loses the drag race…
