Really in Toronto, for me it’s better to take the bus. From my home to college, $3 to get there and $3 to get back home. A lot of people in Toronto use buses probably because it’s cheaper than a taxi, since taxi prices are a bit expensive.
If that was my car i’m gonna run him off with my car after banging my window like that. What he’s done was wrong and it simply gonna make other peoples not being sympathise with taxi drivers and uber drivers gonna have lot of support from all people after watching this.
We had a similar issue in France, earlier this year. Taxi drivers were throwing rocks at the police, beating up Uber drivers 10 to 1, and in some cases even beating up people who chose to take an Uber, after being denied a lift home in a cab when they asked.
They said it’s because it’s unlawful, because they don’t pay the same taxes, but let’s be honest here: all the give a crap about it how much money they make. They’ve had a monopoly since the day it started, and now they’re getting butthurt over the fact that they’ll have to say goodby to their $90 airport to city run. Tough life.
“Uber drivers skirt the law” says the cabbie who almost hit another car while jumping three lanes, only to make an illegal right turn without signaling.
I can personally speak from experience here, as I live just north of Toronto. The cab drivers here are subcontracted, and as a result to qualify have to meet piles of requirements. Most of the protesting over the last couple of days has come for 2 reasons: 1, because they feel that more regulations are required for UBER drivers, and 2, because recently the Toronto Gov’t passed some by-laws for UBER drivers, but they aren’t actually following the by-laws and regulating the drivers. I get the cab drivers frustrations, but the actions they are taking is wrong.
Video 1: “I’m trying to prove a point. If that guy really..followed the law he should have stopped”.
I laughed at that idiot trying to justifying threatening his own life and two others (driver and passenger of the Uber X Civic) and then manipulating the ‘attack’ to prove that Uber drivers have no regard for life and safety. Keep trying to bullshit your way..you’ll still lose customers.
The Taxi companies have never had any real competition and as soon as that competition showed up they’re super butthurt
What if taxi drivers became… uber drivers. OMG it’s so difficult…
I have to agree that I can see why the cabbies are annoyed, but Uber is a far better service.
I can’t say I’m looking forward to the ‘FakeTaxi’ video’s become ‘FakeUber’ video’s, where the girl can actually afford the fare… Seems like they might be a little less entertaining lol
Welp, I’m staying away from cabs and Uber for a while now! Toronto… This is my home area…
