Here's What Clarkson & Co's Grand Tour Studio Looks Like

On Sunday, filming of The Grand Tour's first studio segment took place in Johannesburg. Thanks to these images, we can get a sneaky look inside Clarkson, Hammond and May's new setup...

I don’t know about you, but when it was revealed that the studio for Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s new car show would be a travelling tent, we were a tad underwhelmed. Especially considering a rumoured budget running into multiple millions of pounds per episode. However, with the first studio segment being recorded in Johannesburg on Sunday, we’ve been given our first look at the setup, and damn, is it impressive.

The tent was pitched in rolling hills on the outskirts of South Africa’s largest city, with a large window behind Clarkson, Hammond and May giving some pretty spectacular views.

Taking to Facebook live after the filming, Clarkson said that the trio “really enjoyed it,” and that “unbelievably, I think it [filming] was successful.”

We do still have to wait a little longer for the show’s premiere though, which is expected to be this September. Until then, we’ll have to do with videos like the one below, featuring the trio talking about, erm, thongs. Obviously.
