Learner Driver Passes Driving Test Despite Killing A Deer
I think we can all agree that the driving test is a pretty nerve-wracking experience. Even if you’re fully prepared, a pass isn’t guaranteed; even F1 superstar Jenson Button failed first time. Ultimately, anything can happen, so the most important thing is to stay calm, as demonstrated by learner driver Tom Lo when he took his test last week in rural Fingringhoe (stop sniggering at the back).
Half-way through his assessment a deer decided to test Tom’s emergency braking technique, jumping directly in front of his car. Travelling at 40mph, there was no time to avoid it, and he struck the deer head on, killing it instantly. Thankfully, Tom and his passenger got away without any injuries, and the car only suffered a cracked number plate.
Somewhat surprisingly, Tom’s driving instructor Robert Jezierski decided to carry on with the lesson regardless. Tom said:
“The driving examiner checked the car and then we went on with the exam. It was something I was not expecting so I was a bit shaken up, but luckily I wasn’t too shaken up to continue. I got this test as a cancellation, the next one was 15 June, so it was quite important to pass it before my exams.”
Thankfully running down wildlife isn’t considered to be an instant fail, so Tom passed with just two minors. This got us thinking; have any CTzens experienced equally eventful driving tests? Let us know in the comments below!

There was a young guy in Denmark that passed the driving test. A few weeks after his driving instructor received a speeding ticket, with a picture of the young guy on. In Denmark when go to the final test, you are driving with a police officer. So guess who had something to explain. Unfortunately the young guy had to pay the ticket himself, but as fare as I remember he kept his new licence.
And for those of you that do not believe me. Here is an article, but it is in danish http://ekstrabladet.dk/112/article4730000.ece
During other driving tests, I used to be real good friends with the instructors son so me and his son would find them when they are doing the tests and smack the car when they were slowly backing up and fall on the ground. Ended up not being able hang out with him after a few heart attacks (not literally thankfully)
I failed my first drivers test because there was a scooter driving the roundabout backwards and they said i didn’t act like i should…. how the hell do i have to be prepared for something like this..
I learned to drive on a Chevy Spark which is the worlds smallest 5 seater if you ask me. When I was driving with the instructor on lessons, it was just him and me in the car but on the final test a commitee of two sat at the back and the car felt powerless to cope with that much weight. I stalled the damn thing at one point because the extra weight tricked me but they let me pass.
I had to avoid hare at 70km/h. So I braked checked mirrors, let go off the brake used my indicator and went around the Hare and that all in 5 seconds. After that the examinator looked at me suprised and said I did a nice controlled maneuver and we went on with the test. I passed first try xD
at least deer pressure didn’t get to him
During my test it was snowy, took my driving test in audi a4 3.0 tdi quattro. Yup the manual one. When exiting the highway it started to get slippery and the car started sliding. Ended up in a small drift. The guy testing me said afterwards: nice saving, but you could’ve cut the driftingpart. Passed anyway 🙄😄
Mustang: Because wipping people isn’t enough.
FINGRINGHOE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
At my drivingtest a wild group of dutchmen on bycicles appeared on the right side of the road. I was tempted to steer into them but then thought it might be better to focus on passing my drivingtest which I then did. :P
