Mazda Is Still Making Noises About Building A Rotary Sports Car
Dare we believe that a new rotary sports car is on the way from Mazda? That’s the question we’ve been asking ourselves ever since Mazda revealed its RX Vision concept, and with the rumours arriving in dribs and drabs, we’ve been keeping our fingers firmly crossed.
The latest little nugget of hope comes from Russell Wager, vice president of marketing for Mazda North American Operations. According by Wards Auto, Wagner touched upon the subject of the RX concept during a Q&A session at an auto conference in the US. “That concept car shows RX in the title. Every time we’ve used that in the past, it means rotary engine. I hope that’s the case this time,” he said.
He went on to say: “That car wouldn’t come to market unless it has a rotary engine…That’s what they are working on.”
Granted, it’s all still pretty vague at this point, but Mazda is still talking about future rotary products in public, and - crucially - hasn’t ruled anything out. Make sure those fingers remain crossed, folks…

Plz, Mazda, build this!
It’s engine will be a DOHC 13b. I’ll bet $5 on it.
Please don’t make this an expensive car like the nsx or the new Toyota, we need another reason to love Mazda other than the Miata
Nah, i’ll keep my Audi A1 e-tron. It still has rotary LOL.
