#MuseumWalk Part Two

It’s another Sunday and as I promised in my last #MuseumWalk post today it’s Mercedes-Benz Museum time.

Why did I choose today, 31 January 2016 you’re maybe asking yourself? Well, on 29 January 1886 Mr. Karl Benz registered his patent for the first vehicle propelled by a petrol powered engine, it was the closest Sunday to the celebrating date.

How did the patent and vehicle look like? They are all at the beginning of the MB Museum, you gotta see them first so you’ll know that everything that followed it was basically the development of Mr. Benz’s idea.

Because the whole museum starts basically at the top of the building and you’re going down the timeline everything is presented from that on, not only that you’ll see the amazing cars, history lessons are everywhere around the museum so you understand exactly under what circumstances the cars were created.

Then you advance and end up in a room that looks like this and your breath is just taken away. Such beauty will transform an average Mercedes-Benz fan into an addict.

As I went more into the Mercedes quest I remember sitting around these beauties for at least 30 minutes trying to take the perfect pictures, but there was a guy with a piece of paper and an average pencil trying to sketch the cars out.

There’s also a room which serves as a reminder for the great C111 experimental vehicles Mercedes created back in the 60’s and 70’s, not to forget the amazing Wankel engine.

Mercedes-Benz Motorsport? Oh yea, we got lots of that.

And then it’s suddenly over, you’ll walk to the exit trough this amazing building whose core reminds of the great Wankel engine, whose projections climb the walls following the elevators, but you’re exhausted, you wanna eat, you wanna lay down in bed, fall asleep and dream of what you saw all day, of what makes you a car enthusiast.

If you didn’t read last Sunday’s #MuseumWalk I strongly encourage you to do so: Porsche Museum

Until next Sunday, have a great week!

Say, didn’t Casey Neistat capture this in the Mercedes Advertisement? Or was it another museum?
