I’d be a lie if I said I haven’t done that before.

Lets face it. Most pedestrians are careless idiots who believe that having a couple of tons of metal run into them at 50 mph would barely leave a scratch

And every time you see someone walking right in front of car, he/she was using a cellphone. People nowadays are so fixated on them they don’t even care to raise their head to look around before crossing a road.

I usually let cars go first, even on pedestrian crossings. I mean their car is wasting fuel, and fuel is pretty expensive here. So if i let them roll it will be cheaper for them and i dont mind waiting 2 seconds longer.

Not gonna lie: I myself have nearly been hit by a bus 4 times at the bus terminal, due to me being careless. All in the span of less than a month. And I’m talking about being less than a meter (~3 ft.) away from being hit.

well, 50mph in City is a bit much isn`t it? But yeah you are right. And for that reason I hate City driving. In Germany at least there is a law that you have less than 50% fault if the pedestrian has not taken a crossing if it is 50m or less away. And in City that is always the case.

So true. Once saw a middle school kid get hit by a car because they ran out in front of a car doing 40 at the last possible second. Needless to say I don’t mess around with that sort of thing.

I spent the whole day driving around london in a big white van… you learn to watch out for pedestrians and drive around them.

No point rushing or getting pissed otherwise you finish your day stressed and annoyed.

(Cyclists and motor cyclist can be just as bad too :p but you learn to watch out for them too)

To be fair, in the traffic jams when all traffic is stopped and hes splitting lanes, i probably wouldnt be expecting him. I suppose london is built up and there would be a lot more bikes so locals should know better

but a cyclist is visible even if he is behind a car, because the height of a cyclist is higher. At least this is valid for bicycles, and motorcycles are loud as hell, so everyone should hear that.

Well, it IS London after all. Its basically the sheer idiocy of Manhattan, only with cream cheese bagels replaced with Pret-A-Manger toasties.

Well, we have this comportment in big French cities too. I live near Toulouse, there is a lot of people who cross the road like there is no cars…

Well, first of all, the pedestrian should cross the road at a pedestrian crossing… and if he chooses not to, than should be super cautious.
