We’re not due to see Merc’s new GT3 challenger - which was recently teased by the German manufacturer - until next week’s Geneva motor show, but these new images of the car have just appeared on Mercedes-Benz Passion Blog. They depict the car belting around Estoril circuit, looking decidedly mean.

Along with the pictures, it’s also been revealed that while the AMG GT road car’s aluminium space frame chassis has been retained, much of the body of the GT3 version is made from carbonfibre.

We’re given a look at the interior, too, which is now heavily stripped back. There’s a meaty roll cage, bucket seat, plus a racing steering wheel with a new digital display sitting behind.

As previously reported, what’s most interesting about this new race car - destined to compete in GT racing events from 2016 - is that it’s expected to spawn a hardcore road-going version. Should be good.
