Porsche 718 Cayman S Vs Audi TT RS: Which Gets Your Vote?
The Porsche 718 Cayman S and Audi TT RS seem to be offering the same thing. Both are very fast coupes, and both will cost you around £50,000. Well, we think: the Porsche is £48,834, and the TT RS is expected to be around the same if not a smidge more.
However, what’s interesting is the two go about the whole fast thing in very different ways. The Audi is front-engined and four-wheel drive, while the Porsche is mid-engined and rear-wheel drive. The Audi is significantly more powerful and faster, putting out 395bhp to the Cayman’s 345, and hits 62mph from rest in just 3.7 seconds compared to 4.2 in the Porsche.
The Audi will also sound better thanks to having a turbocharged inline-five engine (the Cayman makes do with a turbo flat-four), and be more practical thanks to having a pair of - admittedly small - seats in the back.
Then again, the mid-engined Cayman will almost certainly be the more engaging of the two to drive, and can be bought with a manual, unlike the dual-clutch auto-only TT.
So, bearing all that in mind, which would you prefer? Get voting!

Audi
718 Cayman of course!
With the TTRS’ 5cyl.
My vote goes to the BMW M2.
My man 👍
MPower !
Eh, whichever gets a hardtop convertible first.
What!? The RS has 43% of the votes? Just look at it! It’s stunning!
The Porsche because of the boxer engine !
Porsche for me. I never really was fan of TT.
Never really liked rear engines, But I would prefer RWD, althuogh AWD is valid option.
Therefore Audi is bit more tempting. being more practical, and more to my liking.
How ever, Mustang is cheaper than either of those and that’s what I would go for.
Will this be your only car?
Yes -> TT RS
No -> 718 Cayman S
Yes, TT RS is an amazing car, way ahead of its time, with new 2.5-litre 5-pot, a lot of horsepower and quattro system which allows it to accelerate as fast as many supercars. It also has a much better interior than the Cayman.
BUT if I had to chose a sportscar for myself now, I’d go for 718 Cayman S. Mainly because there is a manual option, also its RWD and mid-engined.
TT RS might make you go fast, but Cayman will make you a fast driver.
I’d rather have a corvette but it I had to chose a vw coupe it’d be a golf gti
