Today's Community Question: Which modifications do you want to see die in 2016?

The automotive community is a supportive network of car guys/girls where acceptance for each other’s rides is key. But there are some modifications which are so overdone and so heinous that we finally have to say ‘enough!’

Personally, I can’t wait to see the end of the RWB Porsche craze. For some, Nakai-san’s flared and riveted body kits are sacrilegious, for others, they’re hand crafted pieces of art. But one thing’s for sure, there’s now too damn many of them! SEMA has effectively turned into the RWB owner’s club, and it has to stop.

I think we should start a new campaign called #savetheaircooled993s. Granted, it’s not particularly catchy, but surely it’s a worthy cause.

So CTzens, we want to know, which modifications grind your gears? Let us know!

I’m so glad I’m not the only who thinks Rocket Bunny and LibertyWalk are now “played-out.”

How about the hate on stance finnaly dying. We know that it ruins the drivability of the car, make it go slower and make it handle worse. But you don’t have to go and scream it everywhere. Some people like it and thats good with me.

Fake turbo whistles, fart cans (like I know you’re on a budget but really??? come on if ya really wanted to make everything better and love your car you should’ve put money into a half decent exhaust), also GOD AWFUL rims! (like who the freak still has spinners there are some who still do that near where I live it’s ridiculous sometimes!), that weird tow hitch thing that most ricers put on their cars to make it look cooler when it looks really stupid when it’s a non-functional racing tow, another thing I want to go is psuedo xenon headlights the offbrand stuff sucks and it tends not to be flush with the body even with it being for that type of car/model, I also agree with Griffin Mackenzie below as I hate a woman with fake breasts.

Chrome. Chrome trim, both interior and exterior. Chrome wheels, chrome wraps, if it’s chrome, get rid of it. It doesn’t make a car look upscale, just cheap, and it cracks and breaks and it’s one of those cheap things manufacturers do to make a car seem like it’s worth something more, Chrysler and Dodge live on chrome like it’s life support.

Crossovers. Get rid of crossovers. Things like the Nissan Juke, Chevy Trax need to get off the roads. I commend Toyota for getting rid of the Venza and Honda the Crosstour. They’re uglier than Sin, have little to no actual offroading capability over a sedan, they aren’t suvs, they’re not economical, they’re not functional at all. Need practicality? Need offroading? Get an SUV. I let vehicles like the Subaru Outback and Forester get away with it as they’re awd and very functional. The Mazda CX series that offer AWD count too. But FWD based crossovers are the most disappointing eyesore on the road. They’re entire existence is rice from the factory. I wish manufacturers would bring back the wagons.

What else…stupid camber. Rolling coal. Fart cans. Stretched tires. Slam nation so low you become a hazard to other drivers as you got stuck going up a mild ramp into a gas station or something leaving your car stopped on an active driving lane. Chrome. 24’s. I hate seeing crown vics, old bimmers and mercs, Cadillacs and what else not sitting on 24 inch or larger wheels. Exhaust whistles (turbo whistlers).

There’s more. Those are just to name a few. And that’s not me getting into the car guys. Y’know. The kind that spends money on their to get attention but don’t know anything about their brands heritage, history, their models, the fundamentals of driving dynamics, etc. They’re typically the guys who do burnouts or sit and hit the revlimitter at car meets held in public venues which gets the attention of the police and forces all the decent people in the car community to find a new a meeting place. Those guys. But that might be asking for a bit much.
