Is This Twin-Engined Lupo The Craziest Little VW On The Road?
We think we've found the ultimate Volkswagen Lupo. Starting with a standard 1.0-litre model, this Croatian chopped his car to pieces and decided to fit two engines.
Petar Biocic took the 2.8-litre VR6 engine from his Mk2 Golf and fitted it under the hood, then took another 2.8-litre VR6 engine, this time from a Seat Toledo, and fitted it in the back.
The twin-engined, '5.6-litre W12' is capable of about 420bhp, however that figure approaches 600bhp with spray. Petar fitted 18-inch OZ alloys which look massive on this shopping cart, while Porsche brakes provide adequate stopping power.
The thing sounds nuts as well. Acceleration is ferocious, and we can't even begin to imagine how such a short wheelbase handles all that power.
If you want to see how this insane car was put together, check out the build thread; there is some incredible engineering going on!
