About the eyes yes thats true but most peoplr are right handed witch means driving on the right side of the rroad will allow them better handling of a gear stick witch will allow tem to be faster and as we know faster is always bettr f**k safety life’s to short to use left hand for a gear stick

Like the video mentions, horse riders would drive on the left side of the “road” in order to use their swords since most of them were right handed. If you brits and especially Carthrottle replace the sword with the “stick” (Yes, as a true car guy, I replace the word sword as a stick) or gear lever then you might realize how dumb this idea of posting this video and still having right hand drive cars.
As someone who is left hand and eye dominant, I find this post to be offensive!
Interesting side fact: Where I live in Sweden, a lot of the motorway on ramps are really short and the exit ramps are really long, because they were built before 1967 when it was the other way around.
In my case, I thought of a reason why I would drive a right handed car despite driving in right driven roads. I am right handed and would like to steer with my right while I shift gears with my left. Fraction of a second of better car control could add up to a faster lap time. Would need 2 identical cars with different steering positions to try it out though.
Me being left handed is wierd shifting with my right hand, I’m used to it now that i have been driVing for a few years. But I am right eye dominant.
And yet the pedal configuration we use now, Clutch => Break => Accelerator, was developed specifically for right hand drive cars to drive on the left. Clutch pedal is next to the transmission and you press the clutch and shift using the same side of the body. Leaving what is commonly the dominant hand to keep hold of the steering wheel, which is far more useful.
Plus, being right eye dominant, your right eye being the eye that is closest to the centre line of the road to see down said road to gauge traffic.
Using his own video you can easily spin it around and, to be honest, right hand drive on left hand road makes more sense. Your dominant hand does most of the steering and your dominant eye does most of the viewing.
