Watch Two Trucks Trade Bow Waves In Deep Flood Water
Believe it or not, Australia gets floods and they can be pretty bad. As you can see in this video, where a couple of truckers forge a brave (or stupid) path through several feet of flood water, crossing paths with another truck on their way.
The footage, captured near the town of Broome, in the north of Western Australia, comes after the area was flooded and cut off from the rest of the Kimberley (no relation) region. Broome felt the force of 449mm of rainfall in one 24-hour stint, and that wasn’t the end of it. The rain continued, blown by winds of well over 60mph.
It’s not stopping the truckers, though. They must drive the route so often that they can find and follow the road surface by force of habit, or by any landmarks that are still visible. The driver openly questions their position as they’re driving along, so it’s clearly not easy.
Towards the end of the video they meet another truck, pushing a bow wave in front of it, which crashes over the front of the camera truck as they meet. The guy behind the wheel of the truck we’re on board with has a bit of a joke about it. Incredibly, the truck seems to be getting along just fine. Definitely not a trick to try in any car without a snorkel, mind you.
