Its designer and creator, Daniel Mastretta, designed and built sports design cars on a small scale since the 1990s, but the MXT is considered the first Mexican car in history with a commercial focus, both nationally and internationally.

It is produced in the factory of Mastretta, in Toluca, State of Mexico, which has capacity to produce 150 units per year, of which 70 percent (about 105) will be exported to Europe and the United States and about 45 will be sold in Mexican territory at a price starting at USD 58,000.

The MXT is powered by a turbocharged, inline, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine built from aluminum, which produces 250 CF of maximum power and 257 lb / ft of torque. It reaches a maximum speed of 250 km / h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.9 seconds. The chassis is built with materials typical of the aeronautical industry, such as aluminum and carbon fiber, achieving an approximate gross weight of 980 kg. The Mastretta includes as standard equipment halogen headlights, sport wheels mounted on light alloy wheels of 17 “and carbon fiber sports seats, in addition to a maximum level of safety due to the type of materials used in its manufacture, as well as the design of its construction.” According to its creator Daniel Mastretta, it was designed as a Extremely light sports performance, representing Mexico in the world, due to its configuration of the rear central engine and its low weight, as well as its purity of handling, it is a natural rival of the Lotus Elise.
