People would be surprised to find that there even is a car scene in Pakistan probably because of the impression that the media has made of the country. People usually assume that people here wear turbans and ride around on camels and donkeys. Well they’re quite wrong….

The Affection For JDM

Okay, I’ll admit that Pakistan’s car scene is most influenced by the Japanese car culture. It’s not like we don’t have any European or American cars in the scene, it’s just that they’re not quite as mainstream.

The Car Shows

We don’t have weekly car shows here. They are more ‘annual’ than that. Each city has it’s official car show so it’s quite a spectacle when it takes place.

People spend quite a lot of time and energy when the shows do come about to get their rides top notch.

The Classic Cars

There are many Classic and Vintage car owner clubs here and one would be quite astounded to find how many rare and immaculate gems exist in such a peculiar part of the globe.

The Rally Scene

Many exquisite rally events take place in Pakistan and people from all over the country love to see what goes down in the fierce battle in the scorching heat.

We love Civics

The car community mostly comprises of the youth. Young people need a car that is cheap, fast, reliable and fun and the Civic seems to be the strongest contender for the job. Civics are considered quite cool here as long as they’re done properly.

Street Racing

The backbone of the car scene can be considered as street racing. Racing groups pit against each other and sometime form alliance to beat another one of the groups as well. This combination of racing and politics results in an exciting car scene. Street racing is, like anywhere, illegal here. That is why the only legal drag racing event in Pakistan can be considered one of the best one’s in the continent and that is…..

The Jeeperz Drag Event

This is the biggest motorsports event of Pakistan which is why the environment is more like that of a festival rather than an event. Being the official drag racing event, the battle for the fastest goes down each year for which people spend millions in money and months in work to be the ultimate racer.

An event like this really gives off the tensions surrounding people because of the stuff going on the country which are admittedly there. This event promotes the car scene even more. Shout out to the organizers for such a wonderfully executed event.
