Definitely not. Taxi services need to get on with it and just figure out a way to cope with it and improve their service.

If the cabs want me to ride with them they need something to offer that Uber won’t, like a supercharged V8 with NOS and bucket seats and blackjack and hookers

Once Uber run the taxis out of business, the prices will rocket.
That’s what monopolies do.
If you welcome that, more fool you.

Is that not the point of having a free market and a capitalist society, to be able to create any idea and company and make profit doing it. If you are not giving people the best price and the best service in almost any industry, you will be failing. If taxi companies are furious with Uber, give customers what Uber is not providing, try and change the market to your advantage. It will not be solved by banging on a window. In fact the cab driver has done Uber a favor, by making them the victim. It is a fast moving economy, did they expect to continue at the same pace and not be challenged. Please!

For those of you who said yes, you think it’s right for someone to block an ambulance? These crazy taxi drivers need to lay off before one of them gets hurt. That’s ridiculous. Times change.

I kinda feel for the drivers, but it seems like a backaswards hustle, so as far as the cab companies, themselves- whatever. I tried to be a cab driver, until I found out I had to rent the damn car. I don’t see why somebody has to go through so much b/s, and red tape to drive people around. All uber is, is a somewhat legalized Hack, which are the illegal taxis- I think that’s what they’re called, anyway, once I get a car, I was thinking about doing it myself, the uber taxi thing. I can use my own car, that I’m not paying hundreds of dollars a day to rent, for whatever amount of money I might make.

think about it this way:

A taxi drive must have an insurance so when he has a traffic accident you are covered aswell.
And the Uber driver/car don’t has an insurance and you get in an accident and you are not covered what are you doing?

i know, you have to get with the time, but the Uber system just damages the Taxi buissnes in such a way many people will lose their job, house, they will not get enough money to feed their family, its just to early and with out any control.

This is my opinion.

i’m not sorry for my english, its not my native Langue… :D
