How many BHP does it take for you to consider a car "powerful"?

I’m in a city that you can’t even drive faster than 10kph in average. So, 100HP is just fine. Anything more than 150 or 200HP is powerful here.

Why bring weight into the equation? Power is power. A 450hp engine is just as powerful in a Miata as it is in a suburban.

To me, anything above 350hp is powerful.

I’m pretty sure they’re asking about car power, and not engine power. When you’re comparing engines, it’s different. Of course 350HP is powerful, but that doesn’t mean car X will be as fast as car Y with this same engine.
A coupe with 350HP is definitely a lot faster than a 3 ton SUV with the same engine, but yea they’re both similarly powerful. That’s why we are bringing weight into the equation.

~100bhp/ton. I know it isn’t powerful, but it’s enough for a city like Mumbai where the traffic is terrible.

probably around 300. But if its a supercar only pumping out 300… there is an issue

My car weights just over 900kg and now had about 105hp.. With that lightness I think I’ll happy for 170hp

I’d agree with the General consensus here that 200bhp up to 1400kg is powerful. I have a 1600kg car with 330bhp. It’s powerful enough for me!

All about power to weight ratio

200kw Ignoring weight as a factor. Otherwise any less I would be taking power/weight into consideration e.g. “140kw that’s pretty powerful for a X-kilo car”
