Ugly 1) Unpleasant or repulsive, especially in appearance, or: 2) Involving or likely to involve violence or other unpleasantness. So this is the Tornado 750 GTS, Porsche tuner Gemballa Automobiltechnik's latest Cayenne mutation. It's been around since 2009, but to be honest, we weren't paying attention. Oops. It was conceived, they say, to satisfy "the large amount of requests for a high performance sports car with the dimensions and the spacious interior of an SUV". Righty-ho.

McLaren will debut the MP4-12C Can-Am Edition at this weekend’s Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance . It’s a comprehensively re-worked version of the carmaker’s existing GT3 racer, albeit free from FIA regulation and therefore better in every measurable way. Boom shakalaka.

You may’ve heard that East London is currently hosting a minor, inconsequential sporting competition . I know, who’d have thought? Apparently, we’re doing rather well too. A healthy collection of gold medals has propelled us to third place in the BBC’s Medal Table, behind China and the USA (in first and second places respectively), and just ahead of South Korea. I am, of course, talking about the Olympics. But you already knew that. It’s on the telly... constantly.

By now, Londoners will undoubtedly be familiar with the multitude of be-stickered BMWs currently flitting about the East-End and conspicuously flying down deserted “Games Lanes” past hapless punters and steely-eyed cabbies alike - all to a chorus of callous cussing and extended middle fingers.

A stolen 1967 Austin Healey has been reunited with its rightful owner - after 42 years . 66 year-old Robert Russell, a retired sales manager from Texas, spotted the Healey - which he bought for $3000 from a mate in 1968 - on eBay in May. Russell called the dealer in Beverly Hills, but negotiations were fraught, with them eventually agreeing to sell him the car for $24,000 even though he still possessed all of the original documentation and keys.

Bad news - there’s still no Up! GTI, no Citigo VRS, and no Mii Cupra R . As such, for the time being, diet hot-hatch fans’ll have to make do with this - the SEAT Mii Vibora Negra. Look familiar? It should - SEAT pulled the wraps of its Mii FR concept in Austria a couple of months back, and this is the closest we'll get to it in production form, at least for the moment...

Kenny from the Block (if you don’t know who we’re talking about, leave...) has just outed the latest installment in his illusive tyre-shredding Gymkhana franchise - and it’s AWESOME. The fifth installment in the franchise sees Block tearing up San Francisco’s surface streets in his loyal Hybrid Fusion Hoon Vehicle (HFHV) - which itself makes a welcome return from the Hollywood-land epic that was GYM4.

What do you get if you add SVT to RS? Letters, more letters and 'ST', apparently . Not RSSVT, SVRTS or whatever else - but ST. This latest acronym (because what the car industry really needs is another acronym - I could just tell them all to F-O personally), I’m told, stands for “Sporting Technology”. I’m also told that this latest ST was a joint effort between the guys at Ford’s Team RS in Europe, and the SVT blokes in Dearborn who’ve been responsible for the madcap RS500 and a host of Mustangs respectively.

Apple’s yearly Worldwide Developer’s Conference doesn’t usually bother us petrolheads too much. We might catch-up with the event’s goings-on the next day, just to see how long we’ve got before our brand-spanking-new iPhone’s out of date again, but for the most part it’s not that big a deal.
